Background

The main perspective of this book is in describing socio-economical (interactive and related to possessions) human behavior with the unifying economics theory, originally borrowed by P.Samuelson from the methods (theories) used in physics that describes the behavior of nature.

Such a perspective of looking at economics problems is probably different from the Keynesian one mostly in the scale of assumptions used, i.e. on the individual or on the collective level. Approaching from the individual enables the capturing of some behavioral assumptions like selfishness, while approaching from the collective level one can take into account other observations。

The Walrasian equilibrium laid out in this book is central to the first part of the course Adv Micro, which essentially follows the new classical school of thought.

Anyhow the mathematical description of individual behavior is a general development independent of the schools of thought.
